Who Am I?

My name is Sally Baho, I am a newlywed new mom and bona fide bon vivant. I believe in living life to the fullest and have a penchant for sharing my thoughts with the world. I work full-time as a research associate and freelance write on the side. I love to cook and am always baking something. I include recipes in my weekly substack so please enjoy.

I love champagne and chocolate, dahlias and cookbooks, travel and gardening. And everything in between.

Why Fridays are for Mochas?

During the pandemic I would walk down to my favorite coffee shop and French bakery—Parker-Lusseau if you’re ever in Monterey. They have the best almond croissants, quiche, and mochas. But really everything is good. I was depressed with the pandemic and was ordering a mocha daily until I realized maybe that was excessive because, despite having all the time in the world, I was not exercising like I should have been or to warrant a daily mocha. So I decided to save my treat for Fridays when I’d pick up the local newspaper, the Carmel Pine Cone, which publishes on Fridays and sit and read the paper outside and enjoy my mocha, topped high with real, fresh whipped cream and sprinkled with cacao and granulated sugar crystals. I started sending photos to friends with the phrase, Fridays are for mochas and it stuck. Fridays are for mochas is about enjoying everything this life has to offer. It’s about ritual and the little things that make us happy and life worth living.
